I’ve already talked about how much I can relate to this book, so today I’ll tell you about how it relates to the world. A lot of people see mental illness as something that’s “all in your head” or nonexistent, but Perks tries to end that stigma. Charlie, Sam, and Patrick all struggle with mental illness, but they are still people who laugh and go out and listen to music. It shows that everyone struggles with something, but they can still be happy in some way. This is the same way for nearly everyone who struggles, which is something that the whole world needs to see.
